A friend of mine recently became a new homeowner and to save money on the kitchen, she bought mismatched cabinets. There were a few sections that were just stained wood and didn’t match the majority, which were an off-white color. This work required the use of spray equipment. If you can borrow or rent the equipment, then it is easy enough and worth saving thousands on new cabinets. I definitely wouldn’t paint cabinets by hand unless you are going for a rustic or “shabby chic” look.

Sand cabinets using 100 grit sandpaper.

Use a foam roller to apply the primer.

Mask off the floor and any cabinet that won’t be refinished.

Let the paint dry overnight before removing the masking paper.
